Dave Van Dyke – Going Underground Ready To Go? Dave Van Dyke, who is straight out of the one of so many dark Pubs/cafes in his early 90s days with a local rock 'n roll band to let many guitar wail. Games and music is his life and lust. Until 2007 he concentrates mostly on obscure places with their own material and covers of Tom Petty and Neil Young among others. Dave creates a multitude of fans and to decide in 2007 to include a solo CD: Desert Rock , which one years later followed by Just a Man in the Moon filled with acoustic songs. 2009 is dedicated to touring again and a new third solo CD: Going Underground . With some help from his a six string acoustic guitar part and a 12-string electric guitar slams Van Dyke a tremendous amount of energy the nine songs on this CD. You not only enjoy Dave's energetic voice, which somewhat resembles a young David Bowie and Bryan Ferry, but in electrical performances of Glass Ceiling and Going Underground is a pure experience to suggest some catchy songs belong together. the acoustic guitar with a mostly fingerpickin style, then let him to speak not quite string on his electric guitar, as if we Dinosaur Sr. Neil Young heard flutter. This man ran away to the pubs of New Jersey and NJYC, since he probably feels most comfortable in smaller venues. The pounding guitar rhythms and exciting voice do the rest. Pub & folk rock at its best by Dave Van Dyke on Going Underground” - Johan Schoenmakers

The youth of the American folk singer Dave Van Dyke were mainly spent on bringing rock and roll songs from the 60s to late '80 's in various groups. In recent years he played mostly on his acoustic guitar in schools, coffee shops and small bars in the U.S. state of New Jersey where he also lives in Hillsborough. During solo performances which he spent mainly covers of famous songs but between the hits by dare he already played his own compositions to bring. Then there was increasing demand from the public to own those songs, he decided to put them on a solo-CD bundle. That was the album "Desert Spirit" from 2007, a nice mix of Americana, acoustic songs and rock songs. Just A Man In The Moon”. Dave Van Dyke became highly motivated to continue work on their own songs and soon had enough material for half new CD in October 2008 came on the market under the title "Just A Man In The Moon". The songs on this CD are an expected continuation of the song style on his debut album was used. The many appearances since then have no place to hear songs and cover songs of the past belong to the past. This brings us to the purpose of this review: the brand new release of "Going Underground", the third studio album by Dave Van Dyke. Nine brand new compositions in a genre that leans close to the work that we know of Neil Young and Tom Petty. Acoustic Americana and rock songs with a personalized touch of this talented musician. He himself plays all instruments on this album which he is confined to a 6 strings and acoustic guitar with 12 strings constituent also an electric guitar. We also hear some uptempo songs with a subtle percussion added to the sound of the songs that fuller to sound. This "Do It Yourself' plate is most pleasant to listen and rock songs betray engined Dave Van Dyke perhaps earlier than expected sometimes with a full band on stage could stand. Onze favoriete tracks uit deze cd zijn “Enjoying The Wine” (dat doen wij zelf namelijk ook heel graag), het rustigere “Try To Go My Way” en “Down By The Ocean”, de wat punkerige titeltrack “Going Underground” en ook het instrumentale gitaardeuntje “Green Flash” verdient extra aanbeveling. Our favorite tracks from this CD are "The Enjoying Wine" (ie do we own very happy), the quieter "Try To Go My Way" and "Down By The Ocean", the more punk-engine title track "Going Underground" and the instrumental guitar tune 'Green Flash' deserves special recommendation. In the song "Not Getting Over You" dives suddenly even the memory of the young Lou Reed of Velvet Underground at the time and it is indeed a great compliment.
